Rich in colour with a beautiful textured finish, Batu is a probably the most common timber decking material available. Also known as Yellow Balau, it is very similar to Merbau and is a hard and durable timber which is yellow brown, reddish brown or sometimes purplish brown and will darken with age. With a durability Class 2, a fine to medium texture with a wavy interlocked grain and a medium to low shrinkage rate, it is ideal for timber decks and screens.
