Tasmanian Oak Moulding

Tasmanian Oak is a premium Australian hardwood timber encompassing three species that grow in the mountainous areas of Tasmania, Victoria and South East NSW.  It is also commonly referred to as Victorian Ash.

Tasmanian Oak is light in colour, varying from straw to reddish brown with intermediate shades of cream to pink. It is the preferred hardwood for a wide range of applications. It is a strong and stable timber, and offers good all round workability. It is recognised for its excellent staining qualities, which allow ready matching with other timbers, finishes or furnishings.

Tasmanian Oak has superior structural strength and can be used as glue-laminated beams to cover long spans in protected structural applications, but it is best suited to indoor applications including timber stairs, flooring, paneling, architraves, skirtings, furniture timber and high-end joinery.
